When did Royal Family Kids' Camps begin? TopWe were founded in 1985 by Wayne and Diane Tesch How many adults do you have volunteering at these camps? TopTotal, we have over 8,470 adult volunteers annually who give up a week of vacation for abused and neglected children. How many camps do you currently have? TopWe currently have 169 camps operating. 148 of those camps are in 35 states across the United States. 21 camps are international; South Africa (8), Kenya (1), Austrailia (6), New Zealand (1), Singapore (1) Philippines (1), Peru (1), Japan (1) and Chile (1). SEE FACTS & STATS How many children have attended a Royal Family Kids Camp? TopSo far over 56,691 campers have attended our one-week summer Camps. Last summer we had 6,711 campers attending a camp designed specifically for them. Where do the children come from? TopAll of our campers are in foster care, group homes or state approved care. Are the camps year round? TopIn the United States, camps are held during the summer months. Internationally, camps are held during the country's summer season. How old are the children who come to camp? TopRoyal Family Kids' Camp takes children ages 7 to 11 Who hosts the camp for the children? TopLocal Faith-Based communities (27 denominations*) How much do you charge the children to go to camp? TopThere is no cost for the children to come to camp. Our volunteers raise money from people who have a generous heart to touch the lives of the abused. |
